Kurt A. Peterson has practiced in the areas of real estate, commercial finance and general business law for over 35 years. His practice is concentrated in commercial and corporate transactions, including complex real estate transactions involving all aspects of acquisition, finance, development, leasing, operation and disposition of commercial, retail, residential, multi‐family and agricultural property.
Kurt has a broad commercial banking and finance practice, in which he advises banks and other institutional and private lenders on transaction structuring, loan documentation, due diligence assistance, participations, creditors’ rights, workouts, foreclosures, collections, sale of REO property and regulatory matters. He has represented both lenders and borrowers in a wide range of lending transactions, including acquisition and development loans, construction loans, permanent loans, mezzanine financing, equipment financing and leasing, agricultural loans, asset‐based loans, SBA loans and affordable housing projects.
Kurt also has a diverse general business practice that includes structuring, negotiating and documenting commercial contracts of all varieties and corporate planning, formation and governance; asset protection and risk management; stock and asset sales and acquisitions; corporate dissolutions; and counseling companies on day‐to‐day operational and business matters for businesses of all sizes and types. Kurt also has years of experience representing farmers, ranchers, dairymen, lenders and other agricultural-related interests.
